Located in Ypsilanti, Unity Vibration Kombucha has been in business for over ten years. Owned by Tarek and Rachel Kanaan, the husband-and-wife team sources over 80% of raw materials from various Michigan farms and other companies, supporting local agriculture, Michigan’s economy, and community collaboration. This commitment to local sourcing ensures the freshness and quality of their ingredients and supports the local community. Unity Vibration works with several Michigan companies: Blue Whale Café, Michigan Farm to Freezer, Michigan Hop Alliance in the Leelanau Peninsula, Michigan Sugar, and Tantré Farms, to name a few.

It’s believed that kombucha could have many health benefits, such as improving digestion, boosting the immune system, lowering cholesterol levels, and supporting cardiovascular health. Kombucha is an ancient, fermented drink typically made with either black or green tea, sugar, clean water, and a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts). Throughout this progress, various acids, gases, and trace amounts of alcohol are produced, similar to how cabbage ferments into kimchi or sauerkraut. Unity Vibration kombucha contains natural probiotics, plant adaptogens, acetic acid (like apple cider vinegar), gluconic acid, malic acid, lactic acid, and structured water. The company also promotes environmental responsibility while creating sustainable, quality, kombucha products.

Kanaan mentioned visiting Mount Pleasant and GreenTree Co-op Market in the past. He said he “finds it appealing” and “things were easy to find”. Kanaan also noted it was the cleanest co-op he had been in. In speaking with Kanaan, he told me, “Unity Vibration is the first Michigan kombucha company and the first hard kombucha in the world.”

Their kombucha is an intriguing beverage with each variation having a singular flavor profile. Unity Vibration offers a variety of unique flavors that are sure to intrigue and excite you. They carry spritzers with momorable names like Down to Earth (Lavender, Mint & Blackberry) or Sentient Beings (Lemongrass, Green Tea Leaf, Matcha Green Tea, Ginger Root, Passion & Plum), kombucha teas like Mint Pear or Grapefruit Sage, and hard kombucha like Cherry Tisane, Grapefruit Haze, or Elderwand Kombucha Beer.
