With winter finally letting up (well, sort of), you may be starting to think about spring cleaning. You may not enjoy it as much as I do, but I love nothing more than opening the windows to the fresh air while scrubbing everything down from top to bottom and in all the nooks and crannies! While I can’t do it for you, I can take the sting out of starting with new products and cleaners to make the job a little easier. You may have noticed some recent changes to the bulk cleaning section in GreenTree. The new bulk pour containers are a more efficient use of space, the number of products and brands has increased, so there are now fewer excuses not to clean (I’m sorry).
One new product is the concentrated liquid dish soap and all-purpose cleaner available in bulk. The dish soap is made by Bio Pac, a family run business that creates biodegradable products for people with sensitive skin. They do not perform any animal testing or use any animal ingredients and even donate a percentage of their profits to wilderness preservation. The all purpose cleaner is Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds. This cleaner is plant based without any synthetic fragrances, preservatives, or dyes. In addition to being biodegradable it is also a cruelty-free product. It is gentle on skin yet can tackle projects all around your house from laundry to mopping, counter tops, and bathroom projects.
You’ll also notice that we have kept the Dr. Bronner’s liquid soaps in mild unscented, almond, lavender, peppermint, and tea tree. These liquid Castile soaps are great all purpose cleaners that can tackle everything from brushing your teeth, to complete body washes, mopping, pet shampoo, dish soap, and so much more.
We still carry Moon Works laundry powder in lavender scent as well. This locally made laundry powder has a great scent and even greater cleaning power for all of your clothes, towels, and sheets. Frontier Co-op’s Sweet Almond Skin Care Oil is still available in bulk too. This carrier oil is great for skin and can be used to dilute essential oils in all of your body care recipes.
Buying in bulk reduces the amount of packaging waste that ends up in landfills. It also ensures that you can purchase just what you need without buying more and potentially wasting it. You can also buy just a tad to see if you truly like the product before committing to a larger amount. Bulk can even be more cost efficient, because you are not paying for all of the extra packaging and labeling.
