Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Arrange your favorite pie crust recipe or ready-made crust into pie pan.
Mix and arrange in unbaked pie shell:
- 6-8 Granny Smith Apples (or your favorite baking apple), peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar (or sugar substitute)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp cornstarch
- Dot top with few teaspoons cut chilled butter
- ¼ cup oats
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- ¼ cup flour
- ¼ cup sugar (or sugar substitute)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ stick butter
Spread mixture evenly over the top of filling. Bake 1 hour, covering the crust edges with a crust guard or foil after 30 minutes. Enjoy with friends, or under your favorite apple tree!
