Good food, good folks, music, children laughing, and democracy… what could it be? None other than GreenTree’s Annual Meeting. On April 29th, billions of skin cells made their way to the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum for this year’s annual meeting and board election. This year we had six candidates running for five open seats. Attending Owners enjoyed food from GreenTree’s Deli as well as a community potluck, plus music from fellow Co-op Owner Mike Gilmore, and of course the presentation of GreenTree’s Annual Report, which you can view here. Special thanks goes out to GreenTree staff and Board of Directors for bringing it all together, Mike Gilmore for the music, and Heather Prout and the museum staff for providing such a wonderful space for our meeting and our community!
We wrapped up the first year of our Wooden Nickel program and were able to donate
$116.60 to the Isabella County Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) and $84.60 to Girls on the Run of Central Michigan. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but over the course of the year, GreenTree customers kept 5678 new bags from being used! Our Owners also determined the recipients for our 2017 donations – Women’s Aid Services and the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum.
Here are your newly elected Board Members: Bob Murray, Janet Malusi, Damian Fisher, Anneliese Fox, and Justin Barnaby
